The Lightning Thief Audiobook Free is a fantasy-adventure audiobook based on Greek mythology, the first young adult novel written by Rick Riordan. It is the first audiobook in the Percy Jackson & the Olympians Audiobook series, which charts the adventures of modern-day twelve-year-old Percy Jackson as he discovers he is a demigod, the son of a mortal woman, and the Greek god Poseidon.

The Lightning Thief was published in June 2005 by Miramax Books, an imprint of Hyperion Books for Children and thus Disney Publishing. The book has sold over 1.2 million copies in the subsequent four years, appearing on The New York Times children’s Best Seller list and being listed as one of the Young Adult Library Services Association’s Best Books for Young Adults, among other awards.

It was adapted into a film named Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. The sequel to this audiobook is The Sea of Monsters Audiobook free.

An absolutely fantastic tale marvelously woven by the author Rick Riordan. As a book written for young adults, I didn’t expect it to be as fun and engaging for an actual adult as it was. Move over Harry Potter Audiobook because Percy Jackson Audiobook could kick your butt. In a world where heroes are sent on quests all the time and spend their lives training Percy is a rare breath of fresh air.

I often fear reading young adult books because the main characters can be whiny and immature (as their audience) which can get on the nerves of any adult. Amazingly Percy seems to be mostly free of self-pity and angst while still staying young and believable.

A fantastic book for sure that has me thanking the gods I bought the series. Definitely worth the read!
